Hidden memories

One of our roof-repair fundraising activities is “Hidden Memories” – you can sign a roof tile in memory of a loved one, or just as a record that you lived in Flowton in 2018. These will be put on the roof (signed side down) and will of course not be found until the roof needs repairing! A record will be kept of the names. Contact Diana Fawcusif you are interested and we will later arrange a signing date.

Work needed to be carried out on the roof has to be postponed because of a bat roost, so the kitchen etc will be built first, so hopefully we will have a fully functioning church “with facilities” ready for the Flower festival and Open Gardens on June 22nd and 23rd 2019!

Flowton Fete – update

Many many thanks to all who came and supported the church fete again this year. We were blessed with gorgeous weather this after several rainy years and we were entertained in the sunshine with some new games this year. As usual the tea/cake/cream teas sold well.

We raised over £750 for church funds – thank you.

Flowton WWI commemoration

A commemoration for WWI will be held in Flowton church on Saturday 15 September at 6pm. It will include the stories of the two Flowton men who were killed in action in 1918 and we will be joined by the choir singing songs of the time.

Also included are an exhibition of WWI weapons and memorabilia and a chance to find out able Flowton and the surrounding area in 1918.

If you wish to contribute or find out more, contact Terry Lock.
