Many many thanks to all who came and supported the Flowton Fete on 16th July. We only had a light shower this year (last year was a 2 hour downpour!) but we were well prepared. We had an amazing live band to support us, and some great games – the ladder game even required a throw off between John Prentice and Derek Mayhew to decide the winner.
There was a children’s and adult’s tombola run by Joanna Thomas which always is a great hit, bric-a-brac, a whole host of games from marble runs, key lock games, croquet and more, an amazing craft and jam stall from Susan Woods, plant sales from the Rawleys and so much more. We ventured away from the cream teas this year and sold slices of homemade cake with refreshments, plus takeaway options. This was a roaring success, mostly down to the coffee and walnut tray bake!!
We couldn’t do it without the support of all those who help – the cake bakers, Nick and his amazing signs, all those who gave up their afternoon to run the stalls and our crafters. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
We raised over £1000 this year which is a truly fantastic amount and will go to support the work of St. Mary’s Church in our community.
